My Interests

Puters

My big passion are computers. I work in software development, and even in my spare time I love tinkering with hard- and software. I'm especially interested in computer languages, programming paradigms, databases, communication protocols and the like. Sometimes I also dabble with LLMs. If you want to see some of my stuff, scroll down to my weird projects or just visit my GitHub profile.

Some more facts:

I mainly use GNU/Linux (Fedora, Arch, Debian) and macOS. But I also have a few boxes with FreeBSD derivates, like TrueNAS Core and pfSense.
The programming languages I use most are: Java, Python, TypeScript, JavaScript, PHP, C, Golang
Currently I'm trying to get into Gleam - a fascinating language.
My favorite micro controller is ESP8266. It's cheap and has all the features I usually need.
According to my friends I do more networking/infra stuff than is normal for a software developer. I'm not very good at it though.
I hate OSPF with a passion. It has cost me so, so much time. "Damn it! The hello packets are arriving, why is this neighbor still stuck in the init state."

Music

Besides technology my main interest is music. I enjoy listening to all sorts of genres, and I love discovering interesting new songs, artists, ... I also used to play the drums in various bands. Unfortunately due to personal circumstances I hardly ever get to play anymore 😿 - uhm, I mean 😥.
